Merger of Pontacol AG with the film extrusion plants of Emerell AG and GmbH

The incorporation of the extrusion capacities creates the first competence center for thermoplastic adhesive films under the Pontacol brand. Locations Schmitten, Switzerland and Buxtehude, Germany.

 

2017

Founding of Pontacol AG 

Pontacol AG, a development and sales company for thermoplastic adhesive films, was founded in Schmitten, Switzerland, following the spin-off of the adhesive film activities from Collano. (Collano AG remains active in the adhesives market).

2007 to 2009

Generation change at Collano: new CEO Stefan Leumann 

Collano AG is split-up into three independent companies:
Collano AG (adhesives sales), nolax AG (adhesives innovation), Emerell AG/GmbH (production of adhesives and films).

2002

Sarna Xiro adhesive film technology to be acquired by Collano AG

Collano takes over both production sites for adhesive film technology from Sarna Xiro, Schmitten, Switzerland and Buxtehude, Germany. The adhesive film brand “Xiro” is being integrated into the adhesives brand “Collano”.

1996 to 2000

The Collano brand of adhesives is introduced

1994

Merger of Xiro und Gutacoll

Sarna AG, Switzerland, takes over the two companies Xiro AG, Switzerland, and Gutacoll GmbH, Germany. Both companies are renamed Sarna Xiro AG/GmbH.

1972

Founding of Balatros/Gutacoll GmbH

Balatros GmbH, Germany, establishes a company for the production of thermoplastic foils and thus lays the foundation for the production of adhesive films at the Buxtehude site. Out of which Guttacoll GmbH was born in 1983.

1969

Founding of Xiro AG

The company Xiro AG for the production of thermoplastic adhesive films is founded in Schmitten (Kt. Freiburg), Switzerland.

1947

Year of Ebnöther AG’s foundation

Pioneering work in the polymerization of dispersions leads to the development of an up-and-coming adhesives company.
